ABA Services

Connections Pre-School

Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:00pm

A full-time, private ABA program for children 2–5 years old run by a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Supports are designed to foster individualized skill building through natural environment play-based and discrete trial learning. Each child has access to 1:1 RBT support throughout their sessions. Daily group activities include unstructured recess (social skills), circle time, lunch, gym (gross motor skills) and art (fine motor skills).

Connections After-School
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:00pm–5:00pm

A part-time, private ABA program for children 6–9 years old run by a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Supports are designed to foster social and daily living skills. Session activities include sports group, peer play and self-help programming. 

In-Home & Community ABA

Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:00pm

In conjunction with Connections Pre-School and Connections After-School, children have access to ABA support in-home and in their communities. In-home support is offered through parent programming and/ or 1:1 RBT sessions within the child’s home. Community support is offered through BCBA and/or RBT support at social activities of daily living appointments (dentist, doctors, haircuts, etc.). These supports are offered to children enrolled in our center-based programs.

Individualized Goal Areas

  • Development of a functional means of communication; this may include one or multiple of the following:

    • Vocal Language

    • Gestural Communication

    • American Sign Language (ASL)

    • Picture Exchange Communication (PECS)

    • Individualized Communication Methods

    • Etc., Depending on each child’s needs

  • Skills are first taught 1:1 with the child’s assigned RBT ‘to’ Social skills are able to be taught 1:1 with RBT, 1:1 with a peer and during larger group peer activities depending on each child’s needs

    • Responding to Greetings

    • Eye Contact

    • Gaining Attention

    • Conversation Skills

    • Coping Skills

    • Taking Turns/Following Rules

    • Asserting Oneself

    • Engaging in Sports, Board Games, and Make-Believe

  • Teaching practical, everyday tasks of living that are age-appropriate.

  • ABA Therapeutics is able to provide families with a ‘Behavior Plan’, which focuses on eliminating/decreasing challenging behaviors, including:

    • Non-compliance/Refusal

    • Bolting/Wandering

    • Aggression

    • Mouthing

    • Property Destruction (throwing/breaking items)

    • Tantrums (yelling/screaming/whining)

    • Stem Behaviors (scripting, rocking/flapping, etc.)

  • Both fine and gross motor skills are taught through functional skill building

    • Running Smoothly

    • Catching

    • Riding Bike / Scooter

    • Cutting

    • Handwriting

    • Dressing

    • Using spoon/fork/cup

    • Opening snack / lunch containers

  • Skills needed to be success in the communication can be first taught within center then supports are carried over to each child’s natural environment through community and/ or parent programming

    • Staying with an Adult

    • Sitting in a Shopping Cart

    • Restaurant Skills

    • Recreational Park Skills

    • Birthday Party Skills/ Tolerance

    • Interacting with Animals/ Pets
